????? Hario siphon, has been kept too long, suggest to sink the glasses part in water overnight first to avoid too easy to crack when boiling - I hope my concern is wrong.
I guess you may also need a hand operated coffee mill or electronic coffee grinder :

This is my siphon (Hario MCA-5). I did tested it recently and it worked fine.



I emailed Miss Landy who suggested me getting something to raise up the siphon in order to apply the gas burner. I have no idea what something is and think it may look ugly.

At present, I am using a Moka and French Press and would like to set up the Siphon very soon.

I think you may go to some metal ware shop to tailor make a C shaped stand for your height extension with better look;
but the price nearly or more expensive than get a new bigger Hario with higher bottom to the burner.

or make a U- shape pottery one with the same shape as the base of the Hario you have- I think it can be very nice looking.

em, IMHO, the gas burner I talked about above should be short enough for you, if not; this rack may suit for you - OK looking but it is for moka pot:

In your case, you also use some other way/s to make coffee,
if you put boiled hot water to siphon and use the original fuel to make, it is ok too. Since not much fuel you use.
If I were you, I would do the normal way to make and use the $ for a better grinder which makes better coffee.

The manual grinder came with the siphon 16 year ago. I am looking at a Solis Scala 166. I won't go for Espresso.



Do you think the gas burner would fit in the 3 1/2 " space ?
