Wow Bib, very well spotted. Yes, Kono stand is too small for the burner. Thanks Landy for her help with another stand so it's working perfectly

may be kono 5cups size base is better fits the upper parts ?,
I saw Tiamo base or Hario with kono glass above the heater.
anyway, I just have a Taiwan heater HKD$999- old $.
same situation not fit kono well Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

by the way, La Pavoni & some of home lever or spring lever get overheat easily. Grind coarser and ready a cold water cloth to release heat after a shot. 22-25sec are ideal time to extract a shot for those machine.

I replaced my la pavoni with millennium version. The boiler internal pressure is 0.8bar (around 93-94c) and keep very stable.

non stop make 3shots stable ? even 2 shots non stop...
overheat hardware :
1950 Caravel
1960 Brunella
1960 Peppina
1970 Olympia Cremina & 80's Club
1980 Comocafe
I cannot find any exceptions, with my poor skill.

Hi Bib and tonylamkw,
I just find it difficult to be consistent with the La Pavoni when it comes to temperature and pull time. Instead, I just grind my coffee really fine and try to preheat the machine as long as possible before pulling the shot. I always find better coffee after the first pull.
It's not be better machine out there but it's fun to play.
We drink lot of coffee among my wife and myself. It's just fun to be able to try different beans with different brewing methods...

For pre-millennium version you need to switch off and on machine often to manual control temperature, also you need to release the stream by pull the bar because stream trapped on it. This is the method that I using before.

for fun is fine, since there is no stable method to make coffee, hard to compare different coffee.
bigger model is better for Pavoni machines.
older levers machines are more stable. e.g. 1960 Peppina & Caravel.
it is normal for Pavoni difficult to be consistent with it comes to temperature and pull time. I am lucky, my first levers are 1960 LaPeppina and 1972 Olympia Cremina. no need to try Pavoni , overheat machine... Sad Sad

must be really nice to play with antiques that also make good coffee for you.

yes, sometimes play with those used machines.
get used to the overheat machines + best I taste is Monsoon French and Italian roast SHB, since those coffee likes hot water Wink Wink
